Remove CBC.ca banner ads in six easy steps

CBC, Canada's public broadcaster, has made the decision to place multiple annoying advertisements on their website, CBC.ca. If, for whatever reason, you do not wish to view these ads, you can rid yourself of them once and for all by following these easy steps:

  1. Install Firefox. Go to GetFirefox.com to download and install the latest version of this excellent browser. (You may skip this step if you alread have Firefox installed.)
  2. Install Stylish. Using Firefox, navigate to the Stylish install page, and click "Add to Firefox". If a new widow with a green puzzle piece appears, click "Install Now". If a bar appears at the top of the screen, click the "Edit Options" button near the top-right corner and then click "Allow", and finally "Close", at which point you should repeat Step 2.
  3. Install Adblock Plus. Using Firefox, navigate to the Adblock Plus install page, and click "Add to Firefox". If a new widow with a green puzzle piece appears, click "Install Now".
  4. Restart Firefox. A new window will pop up asking you to choose a filter subscription. Select Easylist and click OK.
  5. Change the look of the CBC.ca website. Back in Firefox, go to http://userstyles.org/styles/4184 and click "Load into Stylish", then "Save".
  6. Revel in your awesome ability to browse CBC.ca, ad-free.
